_ The Gaa or Gaelic Athletic Association is a uniquely Irish institution and has not only endured over the years, but grown since its foundation in Thurles Co Tipperary in 1884.
Today, the highlight of the sporting calendar is the respective all Ireland finals held in Croke park at the end of the summer months. All throughout Ireland though are club games where parish pits it's bet against it neighbour moving on to county and provincial level.
At a deeply held level the games played today are walking in the footsteps of previous generations and contests are fought hard and the jersey worn with pride.
